Technical training
At Dimension Data, we are serious about investing in our people’s development, especially keeping abreast with the latest technologies. Take our Unified Communications Training Initiative (UCTI) for example. This investment in our people has even impressed the analysts at Gartner! This objective of the programme is to address the global skills shortage of crucial Unified Communications skills. It fast tracks graduates and employees through the CCVP curriculum with a Cisco Learning Partner and includes our in-house IPT deployment methodology. Gartner identified our UCTI training programme as a best practice in the industry. In fact, they scoured the globe for similar programmes so they could compile a report of multiple best practices to share with their customers - but they couldn't find any. The result? The whole report is about us!

It is vital for us to ensure that our employees have the latest Cisco certifications and that all our Cisco certifications are kept up to date. We encourage our people to develop their careers and branch out into new technologies, such as from network engineering to performance engineering, or from wireless to enterprise mobility and unified communications. We pay for all training and certification exams related to the role. Online material available via our corporate learning institution, DDU, and employees have access to Cisco’s Partner E-learning Connection.

The Professional Sales Development Tool is a self assessment where our sales employees evaluate their proficiency level against 21 Dimension Data sales competencies. The 21 sales competencies have been mapped back to specific Dimension Data sales roles which enable our sales employees to get a detailed profile of their strengths and future development needs, against the specific sales role they currently fulfill, or other potential future roles within Dimension Data.
Sales training
Our in-house learning institution, Dimension Data University (DDU), has a learning centre dedicated to sales and client -facing employees. Through DDU we provide a wide range of learning opportunities and tools to our sales force for every step of the sales process. Learning covers behaviours, models, products, services and methodologies.
Did you know?
Our sales team clinched the deal that resulted in Datacraft Asia deploying and managing India's largest single network. The network was installed in 2006 for the State Bank of India group with over 14,000 branches serving more than 140 million customers.
Datacraft Sales Academy
Our wholly-owned subsidiary, Datacraft, has a Sales Academy in Asia. The programme aims to align our sales force to a consistent sales engagement model by providing solution-oriented and consultative skills that resonate well with our business model and client base.
Following the success of the Datacraft Sales Academy, we have launched our European Sales Academy and our employees and clients are already reaping the benefits.
