our environment
“At this time of global climate change and
diminishing natural resources, Dimension Data is committed to responsible
environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.”
Merle Singer, Director
of Culture and Reputation, Dimension Data
Dimension
Data has had a Corporate Sustainability Policy in place since 2005 which
ensures all stakeholders are aware of the environmental impact of our
corporate activities and that appropriate mitigating actions are being
implemented.
Through
our regional CSR programmes, Dimension Data employees have engaged in a range
of fund-raising and volunteering efforts supporting global and local
environmental causes.
Environmental
think-tanks have been established in Europe, the Americas, Africa and
Australia, comprised of Dimension Data employees, to champion creative ideas
and engage with employees and partners on how to reduce Dimension Data’s
impact on the environment.
Dimension Data is committed to
responsible environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.
In
2008, we expanded our employee engagement efforts by launching both an
environmental sustainability intranet site ‘Greenpoint’ on Dimension Data’s
global intranet and a personal online carbon calculator tool to assist
employees in calculating their carbon footprint and providing tips and trick
on how to reduce their footprint at work and at home. In 2009, Dimension
Data launched a Green Photography Competition, which encouraged employees to
submit photographs of the environment, winners selected through a voting
process open to all employees.
Greenpoint
that serves as an exchange for ideas internally and encourages employees to
become involved. It is a central portal for all employees, covering key
areas of Dimension Data’s environmental sustainability programme, including
user-generated content, news, a green blog and information on green
initiatives throughout the organisation.
