ADRTel, Italy

ADRTel has been a Dimension Data client since 1998. The company is responsible for delivering reliable IT communications at Italy’s largest airports.

ADRTel needed a partner to support its IT projects, daily maintenance activities and the management of its IT infrastructure. A key requirement was that this partner would be able to deliver Network as well as IP telephony Maintenance and Management Services, including:

  • 24x7 service availability with onsite presence
  • Technical Service Support with onsite presence
  • Consulting and Professional Service support.

Dimension Data developed an innovative solution from planning through to ongoing support and improvement that met ADRTel’s current and future business needs, and accommodated the company’s preference for a flexible sourcing approach.

Step 1: Plan

Dimension Data commenced by assisting ADRTel to plan a significant network expansion and integration project.  Through a rigorous a consulting exercise, we captured all the business and technical requirements so that detailed technical planning could be conducted.

Step 2: Build

Next, upon sign-off of the requirements, Dimension Data procured, integrated and deployed the technical components necessary to create an expanded network that would integrate all the relevant airports.  We ensured a smooth overnight transition to new systems, which allowed the airports to continue operating without any interruptions and maintain seamless operations, despite the technical upgrade.

Step 3: Support

Dimension Data established a technically-skilled Support team for 24x7x365 network management.   This involved all network Maintenance services and activities necessary to guarantee normal functionality and security of the networks.

Through our involvement, ADRTel is able to guarantee service continuity and improve quality of service to its users and clients.

Step 4: Manage

The Dimension Data Support team manages the converged network functionality, security and capacity at all airports to agreed business targets. 

Dimension Data provides the client with the resources to ensure continuous development and enhancement of the technology environments of the airports, as they grow.

Step 5: Improve

To address the fluctuating demand for IT Service Support and the evolving business needs of the airports, Dimension Data has established a commercial model for the provision of annuity based Professional Services, focusing on network enhancement and evolution.  As a strategic technology partner, we have assisted ADRTel to offer its stakeholders best-of-breed IP telephony solutions in multiple locations.  Both organisations are now working together to plan the next steps of the project and the associated implementation strategy.
