Dimension Data Cloud Services for Microsoft
Cloud Services for Microsoft is a family of cloud-based services for Microsoft, including Cloud Services for Exchange, Cloud Services for SharePoint and Cloud Services for Lync. These dedicated, managed messaging, collaboration and communication services are based on Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and Lync are delivered on Dimension Data’s Private Managed Cloud Platform™ (MCP). Additionally, these services can be bundled as part of a Business Productivity Suite for the Cloud offering.
Based on the Managed Cloud Platform™ (MCP), these offerings provide a private, single-tenant cloud environment for Microsoft’s productivity software hosted either in Dimension Data’s data centres or on the client’s premises. With Dimension Data’s offering, enterprises have the flexibility and control needed to customise the service to address their unique business requirements, an option not available when hosting solutions in a one-size-fits-all environment.
Advantages of our Cloud Services for Microsoft:
Greater flexibility
•
Applications are single tenanted – allowing a greater degree of customisation and integration than is possible with public cloud services.
•
Our services can be tailored to address your specific needs – a range of options and extra services are available.
•
The private cloud architecture allows for greater integration with existing systems and applications.
Leverage existing investments
•
Our Cloud Services for Microsoft can leverage your existing investment in a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement to migrate server workloads to the cloud.
•
Existing software such as Microsoft Office and Lync clients as well as browsers can continue to be used with our cloud services.
•
These services leverage familiar products and technology in the cloud – so existing investments in IT and end-user training and skills are retained.
•
In many cases, it’s also possible to leverage and integrate your SharePoint development work and videoconferencing investments with the service.
Data sovereignty and control
•
Our Cloud Services for Microsoft are available through a local cloud data centre – overcoming data sovereignty concerns.
•
Options exist to perform disaster recovery as an in-country or on-site process – again avoiding data sovereignty issues.
•
Our wizard-driven interface and web-based control panel enable you 24x7 control and management access to your cloud service assets.
•
The service is built on Dimension Data’s Managed Cloud Platform – which can also be deployed as an on-premise private cloud in addition to a hosted private cloud.
Managed and supported
•
The Cloud Services for Microsoft platform is fully managed and the applications have a self-service portal for client or Dimension Data branch administration.
•
We offer a comprehensive range of readiness, migration and on-site remediation services.
•
Our deep and long-standing vendor relationships and multi-vendor management capabilities allow us to support and/or manage incidents that may impact the service.

Services will be available in calendar Q3 2012.
