Discovery Phase - The discovery phase is the first step in the assessment and is essentially the information gathering phase, where a Dimension Data performance engineering specialist will collect information about your network performance through:
- Network statistics collection where an appliance is deployed on your network to collect data for a defined period of time.
- Business interview, which gathers information on the business applications that traverse the network infrastructure, as well as strategies for consolidation, virtualisation, mobility, new business applications and other areas that affect network performance.
- Technical interview, which gathers information on the size and complexity of your network, as well as your organisation’s approach to performance measurement and support.
Analysis Phase - During the analysis phase, Dimension Data will analyse the data collected during the Discovery Phase. We’ll consider factors such as changes to your business operations, your IT infrastructure profile and any initiatives that may affect this, as well as the services and applications that will need to be supported.
Recommendation Phase - Following the Analysis Phase, Dimension Data then applies its expertise in protocols and networking to recommend how your network performance can be improved. A detailed report is compiled containing details on the traffic patterns that exist on the network, along with recommendations for performance improvement.
