Supporting the Environment​

At Dimension Data we’re committed to responsible environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices. Being a sustainable business means focusing on the triple bottom line of people, profit and planet. Our people are integral to our environmental practices and our mission is to raise awareness and show our employees how they can make a positive impact on the environment.

The ongoing education, support and engagement of our employees are essential elements of our sustainability strategy. Our employees get the opportunity to participate in initiatives such as:

 

  •  ​​‘Grow Your Own Dinner’, which promotes sustainable eating and agriculture.     
  • ‘Earth Hour’, which highlights the importance of a sustainable environment both at work and at home. 
  • ​A strategy for using IT to reduce travel, energy and waste in our clients’ businesses: reducing their costs while simultaneously lowering greenhouse gas emissions – find out more.

 

Our first environmental programme was introduced in our Australian business in 2005, and then to our global operations in 2007. Since 2010 this programme helped reduce our global greenhouse gas emissions by 10% per employee. That’s equivalent to taking nearly 2,500 cars off the road for a year and a saving of approximately USD 2.5 million.

Every year we make a voluntary submission to the Carbon Disclosure Project to disclose the progress we’ve made on our sustainability strategy, as we believe being completely transparent about our own operations drives us to keep improving. Learn more about Dimension Data’s environmental programme.
