Dimension Data’s Hosted Backup & Restore service automatically backs up your data over a private wide-area network (WAN) link. Your data is stored on high-performance, best of breed infrastructure based at our secure facilities.

Our industry-leading deduplication technology compares your current data to the information we already hold and only the specific data blocks that have changed are backed up over the network. This minimises the volume of information transmitted, saving time and communication costs. It can typically:

• reduce daily data transfers to 1/500th of the total data volume

• make backups run 10 times faster

• cut the amount of storage space required to 1/50th the overall data volume.
