Tomorrow’s World Session Synopsis

“The changing face and place of the office”
Presenter: Ettienne Reinecke, CTO – Dimension Data Group

The way we work is changing, driven by demands of employees, of shareholders and the demands of customers.  Advances in technology are making these demands expectations that the IT department is expected to deliver against.  In no small part due to the fact that employees, and customers are in many cases using this technology in their private lives.

In this keynote address Ettienne Reinecke will look at the trends today around Unified Communications and mobility solutions and how if harnessed correctly they can benefit and not threaten the business.  He will also look at the trends coming down the line and where this rapid “consumerisation” of IT is going to lead the business and the IT department in the future.

“Adopting a Unified Communications and Mobility strategy as a business ethos not a technology solution”
Presenters: Peter Ellis, Dimension Data, Director - Converged Communications, Europe and David Wilcox, Dimension Data, Director - Microsoft Solutions, Europe

There is little doubt businesses and employees can reap the rewards of UC and mobility solutions in their everyday working lives. To maximise the benefits of these solutions our recommendation is that they should be adopted as a “business ethos” that is fully aligned with the company strategy, not simply a technology solution.

This session will demonstrate how a 'Blueprint' approach for UC and mobility solutions can enable businesses to increase employee productivity and shareholder return, contribute to staff retention and support the green agenda, as well as explain how it can be achieved within a fully secure communications environment.

“The CEO’s agenda and the impact of Unified Communications and Business Mobility on it”
Presenter: Russell Bolan – CEO Dimension Data, Europe

The need to increase customer satisfaction, shareholder return and balance the working lives of two thousand employees in eleven different countries while meeting global compliancy demands, and keeping an increasing focus on the green agenda is typical of CEOs everywhere today. The IT department and the strategy they deploy can make or break these business requirements.

In this session Dimension Data Europe CEO, Russell Bolan, will explain how he looked to the IT department to enable the requirements of his business to be met, and how embracing Unified Communications and Mobility strategies into the business became essential to managing the dynamic needs of a European business.

“Building the case for Unified Communications and Mobility in your business today”
Presenter: Neil Louw – CIO Dimension Data, Europe

Consistently at or near the top of any piece of research of CIO issues today is demonstrating the ROI of technology.  Equally challenging is proving the ROI for the adoption of new technology in the business.

In this presentation our European CIO will present how he built the business case for the adoption of UC and Mobility in Dimension Data, reflecting not only the tangible financial ROI but also its impacts in relation to employee productivity, business compliance, customer and employee satisfaction and the growing demands of operating in an environmentally sound fashion, essentially the IT departments contribution to building a sustainable business for the future.
