Black economic empowerment
Dimension
Data acknowledges that as a result of the legislative, social, and economic
inequalities of the past, we have a moral imperative to bridge the chasm that
opened between the privileged few and the many historically disadvantaged
people of our country. This, together with an imperative to build an economy
that reflects the demographic nature of our country, has led to our
broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) strategy.
Our
strategy is strongly aligned with the requirements of the BEE (Codes of Good
Practice), and includes comprehensive commitment to all seven transformation
indicators: Equity Ownership, Operational and Management Control, Preferential
Procurement, Enterprise Development, Employment Equity, Skills Development
and Corporate Social Investment (CSI)
Having
worked intensely on achieving the targets and imperatives set out by our
statement of intent on BEE, Dimension Data is proud of the headway we have
made towards transformation. However, although we believe that significant
progress has been made, we are highly aware of the fact that the task of
transformation is not by any means complete. In the months and years ahead
our pursuit of comprehensive empowerment and transformation will remain
relentless.
At Dimension Data we believe that empowerment is synonymous with transformation. Not only of our company, but also our country. Our vision for transforming our company, uplifting our people and building our nation has become a reality with the concluded sale of 25.01% of the company to a broad-based BEE consortium led by Chairman Designate, Andile Ngcaba.
