EMPLOYMENT EQUITY

Dimension Data’s ultimate employment equity goal is to have a demographic profile reflective of the regions we operate in. This profile includes both gender and racial complements.

From an employment equity (EE) perspective, we are seeing positive, hands-on transformation from within our business.  The group has appointed a Recruitment Manager, who is responsible for the full recruitment process, in conjunction with a specialist recruitment team in the regions. In addition, the group has appointed a Training and Development Manager, who is responsible for ensuring the ongoing development and advancement of all our staff, as well as building management capability at all levels in the organisation.

And finally, to ensure that employment equity is driven more aggressively in the business, we have appointed an Employment Equity Manager to manage and report on Employment Equity within the organisation. Another key focus is to continue the momentum already achieved in building cultural awareness through our Diversity Awareness workshops for our employees.

The main purpose of Dimension Data’s Diversity Awareness programme is to create and maintain a positive and dynamic environment that understands, recognises and values the qualities of each individual.

The programme provides a building block towards improved human relations and creating the awareness that diversity can be our greatest strength.

For the 2005/2006 financial year, Dimension Data achieved the following:

  • 31% people employed were female
  • 41.55% of people employed were PDI
