EQUITY OWNERSHIP
“We believe this BEE transaction to be the right one for
DDSA. Firstly, it has the direct involvement of the BEE consortium in the
management of the company and it also provides all parties with a strong
incentive to grow the business. In addition, it includes a significant
element of broad-based participation and recognises that transformation of
the company is the key to its success. Therefore, it has short and long term
benefits for all stakeholders - shareholders, employees, BEE participants and
South Africa.” Jeremy Ord, Executive Chairman of Dimension Data plc.
Dimension Data South Africa’s (DDSA) shareholding structure
is as follows:
The 10.20% broad-based BEE holding will be used in a
variety of ways. In total, 2.97% of the shareholding will be used for
development initiatives, while 7.23% will be allocated to current and future
Dimension Data South Africa employees from historically disadvantaged
backgrounds and other black business partners.
Many of the South African provinces are represented by
the group of broad-based BEE participants and the chosen initiatives support
educational and developmental projects managed by women. The initiatives
include a women-owned construction company and a support group for women
affected by violence and abuse.
