Position Summary and Primary Objectives

·         The BEE Marketing Manager will be principally responsible for driving Dimension Data South Africa’s BEE initiatives, both internally and externally.

Main Duties / Key Accountabilities

1.         Internal Marketing of BEE Initiatives and Maintenance of Collateral

§         Production of quarterly BEE newsletters

§         Ownership of the BEE tender portal including up-to-date documentation showing progress against the Codes of Good Practice and Dimension Data’s commitment to BEE

§         Other internal marketing initiatives as determined in consultation with the marketing manager

§         Driving the BEE 101 initiative with Dimension Data staff

§         Production and delivery of quarterly BEE progress reports to the Dimension Data Board and Executive Committee.

2.         External Marketing of BEE Initiatives and Production of Collateral

§         Producing and maintaining a client presentation on BEE

§         Training account managers on the use of this presentation

§         Giving this presentation to clients and other stakeholders

§         Maintaining relationships with the press and ensuring BEE initiatives receive press coverage

§         Producing marketing collateral related to both BEE and CSI initiatives and ensuring these initiatives are leveraged to the maximum marketing advantage of Dimension Data.

§         Other external marketing initiatives as determined in consultation with the      marketing manager

§         Producing marketing collateral related to CSI initiatives and ensuring these initiatives are leveraged to the maximum marketing advantage of Dimension Data.

3.         BEE Compliance

• Maintenance of the BEE tender portal ensuring up-to-date documentation to be used when completing questionnaires on Black Economic Empowerment.
• Vetting of completed BEE questionnaires to ensure effective governance and accurate submissions.
• Production and generation of BEE information file to ensure data integrity for BEE rating submission.

In addition, the individual will be required to work as an integral part of the marketing team, providing assistance with marketing initiatives, from time-to-time.

Requirements: Education, Training and Experience

·         A tertiary qualification is preferred, as will be a project management related qualification.

·         This position requires an individual with programme management and / or marketing experience.

·         The individual must be comfortable working in a largely autonomous fashion to execute various programmes related to Dimension Data South Africa’s Black Economic Empowerment initiatives.

·         The role requires interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders, at a mid-to-senior management, as well as an operational level.  As such, strong inter-personal and communication skills are required.

·         Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to drive projects through to completion, through individual initiative and action are essential.

·         The individual will administer the budget related to this function and therefore must be comfortable taking responsibility for managing internal and external resources within budget.  Relevant experience in this regard is critical.

·         Excellent written skills will be a definite advantage.
