Position Summary and Primary Objectives

Engineer will be required to focus on the following 2 technologies:

Microsoft SMS (Systems Management Server) 2003 :

·   The candidate will be required to plan, build, maintain and manage SMS solutions.

·   Furthermore the candidate will be required to transition their SMS skills towards System Centre Configuration Manager 2007 when this is released.

·    

Microsoft SCOM (System Centre Operations Manager) 2007:

·   The candidate will be required to plan, build, maintain and manage MOM (Microsoft Operations Manager) 2005 and SCOM 2007 solutions.

Main Duties / Key Accountabilities

·   Deliver projects based on an agreed scope of work in line with customer expectations.

·   Understand SLA’s specific to our contract customers and ensure that these SLA’s are met at all times.

·   Understand Managed Services and deliver pro-actively to meet these requirements.

Requirements: Education, Training and Experience

·   5 years + experience in the IT field.

·   The candidate must be MCSE 2003 certified. 

·   SMS 2003 certification is also a requirement along with 2+ years experience in Microsoft Operations Management 2005. 

·   Experience with System Centre Operations Manager would be beneficial. 

·   Good documentation skills a requirement and a general understanding of SQL Reporting Services.

• must work well across other teams and Lines of Business.  
• Must be prepared to work after hours when project deadlines are at risk or when Service Level Agreements need to be met.
• Standby is also a requirement.
