Position Summary and Primary Objectives

The Pre-Sales Consultant pro-actively works alongside their assigned account manager(s) to understand their clients business, in order to improve the quality and quantity of mutually beneficial business we do with our key accounts.  The Pre-Sales Consultant brings technical and operational experience to the account team and ensures the most appropriate resources and technologies are facilitated into well understood and defined client requirement. 

The Pre-Sales Consultant ensures the highest standards are met throughout the entire lifecycle and that Dimension Data delivers to customer expectation.

The Pre-Sales Consultant represents Dimension Data within the client and the client within Dimension Data.   The Pre-Sales Consultant helps Dimension Data shape our organisation around our client requirements.

 

Main Duties / Key Accountabilities

The Pre-Sales Consultant will help Dimension Data achieve profitable growth and improve customer experience by:

·         Understanding and adding value to our clients business;

·         Facilitating Dimension Data thought leadership, solutions and services into defined client requirements;

·         Building specialist network infrastructure value propositions for our clients that deliver measurable business benefit;

·         Facilitating delivery to client expectation through-out the entire engagement lifecycle;

·         Helping Dimension Data earn trusted status with our client;

·         Represent Dimension Data within the client and the client within Dimension Data

 

 

Requirements: Education, Training and Experience

·         Cisco certification and substantial experience in designing network infrastructure solutions

·         Strong people, customer facing and relationship skills

·         Articulate through excellent written communication skills as well as the ability to present at all levels

·         Sales engagement, commercial awareness and basic financial understanding e.g. ROI

·         Project management/service delivery methodologies and financials

·         Positioning and selling specialist network infrastructure solutions into business requirement

·         Able to map technology to business requirement and benefit

·         Ability to facilitate people in order to achieve set objectives

·         Experience in shaping and winning large bids

·         Ability to explain complex technologies in simple terms

·         Ability to articulate an informed view of technology futures relevant to clients business

·         Familiarity with:

o        Enterprise and Service Provider networking e.g. switching, routing, content delivery, traffic optimisation etc.

o        IP Telephony and Collaboration technologies e.g. Cisco AVVID, Microsoft LCS, SIP etc.

o        Infrastructure security technologies e.g. VPN, RAS, Secure ID, Content filtering etc.

·       The ability to architect solutions and lead the design, implementation and transition to support

·       Ability to deliver technical solutions to business requirements
