Position Summary and Primary Objectives

·         Technical Lead/Snr Technical Consultant for integrated DCS solutions

·         Provide consulting and assessment services into large enterprise customers

·         Deliver large, complex and integrated implementation professional services, often of technology deployed for the first time

·         (DCS strive to be the leading integrator of server and storage solutions including Windows and UNIX servers, virtualisation, backup, archiving, clustering and disaster recovery.)

Main Duties / Key Accountabilities

·         Define, develop, scope and deliver charged for consulting services in the DCS space including assessment services

·         Pioneer the implementation of leading edge technologies for the first time for DCS

·         Run or oversee large and complex professional services implementation projects

·         Quality assure technical designs done by the Solution Architect team

·         Cross skill operational services engineers to be able to deliver these new technologies repeatability

·         Conducting assessments of existing server and storage environments through tools and interviews, analyse the results and present issues and recommendations to the client

·         Be the point of escalation for technical troubleshooting issues

Requirements: Education, Training and Experience

·         Formal Education:

o        Degree or technical diploma (to demonstrate problem solving abilities and intelligence but not a prerequisite)

·         Base Technologies required:

o        Operating Systems: Windows, Solaris, Linux – Expert level

o        Applications: Databases incl. Oracle, SQL, Exchange and AD – Mid level

o        Networking and security including AD – Mid Level

·         Our technology expertise required – Expert level

o        Storage including SANs, storage management, replication, archiving ideally from EMC and/or HP - Expert

o        Backup including products such as Symantec Netbackup, Backup to disk and de-duplication – Expert level

o        Virtualisation including products from VMware, VDI and Solaris Containers – Expert level

o        High availability server clustering including Symantec Storage Foundation HA across Windows and UNIX

·         Broad technical knowledge to be able to do the integration we require

·         Communication, presentation, and writing skills with a presence that a consultant should have
