Dimension Data and Microsoft expand global partnership to accelerate cloud adoption

REDMOND, Wash. – Feb. 28, 2019 — Most enterprise networks were not originally designed for the cloud, complicating the journey to true cloud adoption. To help simplify the clients’ transition, Microsoft and Dimension Data, the USD 8 billion global technology integrator and managed services provider, expanded their global partnership, naming Dimension Data the Preferred Partner for Azure Network Readiness.

Microsoft’s clouds are well designed to connect and integrate with enterprise networks, but there are many aspects outside Microsoft’s clouds that impact adoption, cost, and user experience. With a network backbone that sees 40 percent of the world’s traffic, Dimension Data brings expertise around these externalities and applies it to Microsoft clouds like Azure and Office 365.

As a trusted global partner for networks, Dimension Data and Microsoft collaborated to provide welloptimised, secure, and high-performing network infrastructure to accelerate cloud services adoption and create opportunities for future Microsoft services. Cloud-ready networks from Dimension Data empower clients to:

  • Provide a great user experience for every app, regardless of where the data sits or the user connects
  • Modernise the network to reduce cost and risk, while enabling flexibility, resilience, scale and heightened security
  • Lay a network and cloud foundation that enables future initiatives like digital workplaces, IoT and analytics

By working closely with Microsoft, we ensure our services optimise and remediate client networks to accelerate the adoption of Microsoft Clouds like Azure while delivering tremendous user experience,” said Rob Lopez, Group Executive for Digital Infrastructure at Dimension Data. “We can now lay a cloud-optimised, high-performing network foundation faster and more completely than before, accelerating our clients’ time-to-value and maximising the benefits of Azure with enterprise-level performance and security.”

Feedback from Dimension Data clients motivated the creation of the expanded global partnership. Enterprise clients struggle to bring together the cloud and the network in a way that is reliable, cost effective, easy to manage, and flexible enough to allow the adoption of new services. Dimension Data facilitates this integration, and the expanded Microsoft partnership helps the company further extend its work with clients.

Dimension Data has a long history of partnering with Microsoft around the world – a partnership that sees ongoing investment by both companies, and improved value to our joint clients.
