As the name of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) umbrella programme suggests, our people reach out with the combined strength of their heads, hearts and hands. Our employees choose which causes and initiatives they’d like to support, so we touch not only the lives of community members who need it most, but also the hearts of our colleagues who engage with the organisations and causes closest to them.

Dimension Data Taiwan collaborates with Cisco in World Vision’s 12-Hour Famine

Frank Liao, General Manager of Dimension Data Taiwan, explained that this charitable initiative took the partnership between Dimension Data and Cisco to the next level: ‘We don’t only do business together, we also participate in activities that demonstrate our commitment to corporate social responsibility, to help make the world a better place.’

Together with Cisco employees, more than 85% of Dimension Data Taiwan’s employee base participated in World Vision’s 12-Hour Famine at the beginning of 2013. Echoing the 30-Hour Famine programme, the objective was to show care and support for hungry children and families in Taiwan and other parts of the world, especially during the Lunar New Year holidays when many people feast on good food. Over 140 employees from Dimension Data Taiwan and Cisco participated in this event by abstaining from food for 12 hours, from 06:00 to 18:00. Instead of the usual lunch break, employees from both companies engaged in a videoconference gathering via Cisco’s TelePresence and video end points.

Funds raised through sponsorship by both companies exceeded USD 10,000, which will be put toward humanitarian assistance around the world through World Vision.
