Alan Turnley- Jones
Chief Executive Officer
Alan Turnley-Jones was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa (MEA) in June 2022. A seasoned and well-regarded strategic leader with a strong track record of innovation, transformation and leading cross-functional teams, he brings a wealth of global expertise to his role. Alan has been with Dimension Data MEA since 1999 and has held a variety of roles over his 23-year tenure at the company, including serving as a member of the Dimension Data MEA executive from 2013.
Chief Financial Officer
After qualifying at KPMG in Johannesburg, Barry spent the early part of his career in the financial services industry in London. He joined Dimension Data in 2009 as Senior
Commercial Lead and was later appointed as Chief Financial Officer for the Middle East and Africa. Much of his focus is on the execution of Dimension Data's strategy to transform the business’ operating model, adopt shared services and digitize certain operations and business processes.
Chief Digital Officer
Having spent most of his career at Dimension Data in KwaZulu-Natal, Jay relocated to Johannesburg in 2014 to take on a wider role in the company, becoming Chief Technology Officer for MEA in 2019. He was instrumental in the planning and execution of the One Dimension Data operating model, consolidating several brands into one. Jay was appointed Chief Digital Officer in 2021 and is responsible for driving the company’s digital transformation, operating-model simplification and digital platform strategy. He is also a core member of the strategy planning team.
Marisa Jansen van Vuuren
Chief Marketing Officer – MEA
Marisa Jansen van Vuuren is a seasoned, award-winning marketing executive. Her career highlights include the refresh of Dimension Data’s brand in 2010, leading the strategy and activation of NTT’s partnerships with Red Bull Basement and the Tour de France between 2011 and 2022, and leading the global strategy for consolidating 30 brands under NTT Ltd. in 2019. In her current role, she is responsible for strategy, demand generation, sponsorship, events and the communication framework for delivering value to all stakeholders. Passionate about empowering future women leaders, Marisa also does nonexecutive work for a venture capital fund in Australia.
Public Sector Executive
Andy joined Dimension Data in June 2012 and was Client Manager for several key municipality accounts. In 2017 he was appointed Public Sector Executive, Middle East and Africa, overseeing strategic capital projects in ports, rail, road and bus rapid transit (BRT) infrastructure throughout Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Andy is also involved in policy discussions relating to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, wireless open access network (WOAN) and 5G in South Africa. His background, experience and exceptional leadership skills make him an asset to the Dimension Data business.
Interim Senior Vice President Human Resources
Kirsty has a long history with Dimension Data, and worked in various roles within the Talent Management team for over 10 years. Prior to joining us, Kirsty was the Chief People Officer (CPO), and member of the Executive Leadership team at Ignition Group, where she had the responsibility for developing and executing on the People and Culture strategy in support of the overall business plans and strategic direction of the organisation and its divisions.
Global Data Centers Executive for MEA
Michael joined Dimension Data in 2000 as a Sales Specialist and has held multiple roles since then, including Client Manager, General Manager and Managing Director for Southern Africa. In his role as Executive Sales Director, he was instrumental in bringing together multiple sales teams and systems as one unified sales organization for the consolidation and rebranding of Dimension Data’s subsidiaries in 2020. He was appointed as the MEA Executive for the Global Data Centers business in October 2021.
Managing Director – Southern Africa
Nompumelelo’s core philosophies are to have faith and courage in all seasons and never be afraid of challenges, no matter how large or complex. A chartered accountant, Nompumelelo has always been known for her love for business. She joined Dimension Data in 2016 as the Gauteng Senior Finance Manager for the Managed Services business. Three years later, she was appointed Intelligent Customer Experience Executive. Nompumelelo has been in the role of Managing Director, Southern Africa, since 2021.
Managing Director – East and West Africa
Richard has over 20 years’ experience in leading and managing organizations across East Africa. He joined Dimension Data in 2015 and was appointed to the position of Managing Director, Dimension Data East and West Africa in 2020. Responsible for integrating and growing the business in these regions, Richard has been instrumental in implementing a business strategy that layers value-add services on connectivity to deliver a wider product offering that includes cybersecurity/resiliency, cloud services and business continuity management, among other solutions.
Managing Director – Middle East
Mohammed started his Dimension Data career in 2011 as a Senior Client Manager. In 2014 he was appointed General Manager of KSA in Saudi Arabia, and the business saw significant growth under his leadership. In 2017 Mohammed went on to fulfill the role of Managing Director for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. When Dimension Data consolidated its interests in the region in 2020, he was appointed to his current role as Managing Director for the Middle East.
Managing Director, Mweb
Manelisa has a wealth of business knowledge and experience, having worked in various senior executive roles in IT, telecommunications and banking for leading blue-chip organizations in the region. He is passionate about technology opportunities in the region and their potential for development and innovation, and his goal is to position Mweb as South Africa’s leading internet service provider (ISP). In his previous role, Manelisa was the Senior Vice President: Marketing, MEA for NTT Ltd.
Merchants: Managing Director S.A.
Zain aims to build valuable partnerships with our clients and provide opportunities for our people. This purpose allows us to develop our talent pool and grow our South African business. Within the contact centre environment, the aim is to develop bespoke approaches for businesses across various industries, improving on existing processes to retain their customer and client relationships in a sustainable manner.
Sherrard joined Dimension Data in 1997 and has led numerous executive portfolios during his time with Dimension Data. He was Eastern Cape Regional Executive for seven years before taking on the broader roles of MEA Strategy and Business Transformation Executive and, thereafter, Chief Information Officer. Sherrard was appointed the executive of our Affiliates Businesses in November 2021 and is instrumental in planning and executing our Geo and Business strategy. He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
