On course to create meaningful connections

We're proud to host the 29th Pro-Am golf tournament and continue to build on its reputation as both a premier occasion on the South African golfing calendar and an event where partnerships are forged and relationships nurtured.

Bringing together industry leaders and influential decision-makers, the 2024 Pro-Am can be used as a platform to make a real difference in the lives of many, driven by a passion for people, technology, sport, growth, sustainability and positive change.

This will be our second year of showing our commitment to levelling the playing field as we continue, through our partnership with Standard Bank, to make a positive impact on women’s golf.

Solar backpack fundraising drive: supporting students’ academic performance

At the intersection of purpose, passion and partnerships is our solar backpack initiative.

Many schoolchildren do not have access to electricity, which interrupts their academic performance. Even more tragic is the fact that some children in rural areas have never even owned a school bag. We have partnered with the brilliant startup Chedza to enable them to use their technology and address these problems through their innovative solar backpacks – and in turn make a tangible difference to individuals and society.

At Pro-Am 2024 we will be raising money to buy solar backpacks for children in rural communities in George, Western Cape. This initiative supports our global sustainability goal of providing 5 million young people and children from underprivileged areas with digital access and education opportunities by 2030.

The solar backpack is:

  • Equipped with a solar panel that absorbs and stores sunlight during the day
  • Installed with an LED light that can last up to 7 hours, and a USB charging port to charge smartphones and tablets
  • Made from waterproof canvas and guaranteed to last up to 5 years
