The Sr Business Development Manager (BDM) supports the execution of a GTM strategy, for a Go To Market (GTM) stream, in a defined market. Seen as business experts in their respective domains, they are responsible for business planning with Area Vice Presidents, Regional Vice Presidents, Area Sales Directors, and Client Managers. The Sr BDM will follow up on sales enablement training for Client Managers to ensure they can execute the relevant sales plays, help identify prospects, track progress, and engage on strategic client engagements in support of the client team. Sr Business Development Managers will work with partner sales management and channel management for the assigned market to ensure the appropriate level of engagement is occurring between the respective sales teams. The Sr BDMs will be aligned to a specific GTM stream but will work to drive sales plays that deliver end to end value to clients and maximize Dimension Data wallet share of clients in high focus segments. Sr Business Development Managers will have a more complex portfolio, support a larger number of sales employees, and have more relevant experience compared to the Business Development Managers.

What you'll be doing

Generate demand by developing markets using new and existing GTM offerings for the contact center/customer experience field

Evangelize GTM offerings with customers and prospects in demand generation activities

Evangelize and drive the enablement of the field with respect to the actively managed portfolio

Participate in the development of GTM offerings and Sales Plays as appropriate

Help field achieve quarterly revenue, bookings, and GP targets through appropriate client engagement

Engage to assist in helping the sales team close business as an advisor on opportunities and client engagements

Act as solution expert to clients and client managers for assigned sales plays and Go To Market domain

Engage complex clients at a detailed level to gain an understanding of the business issues and objectives driving the client’s needs

Ensure all deals and account planning includes appropriate Sales Plays, Consulting, Technical, and managed service components

Contribute to strategic planning activities across existing & prospective client bases to identify and position opportunities based on GTM and regional strategies

Maintain strong technical awareness of assigned offers, solutions and services. Further, maintain general knowledge of other service offerings within Dimension Data.

Maximize portfolio profit from all available incentive plans including deal registration programs, vendor rebates, service attach, etc.

Engage with Dimension Data Partners in account planning and solution awareness initiatives

What would make you a good fit for this role?

Education/Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s or higher is required, preferably in Information Technology or Business

Relevant partner certifications highly desired

Work Experience Required

Sr Business Development Managers typically have at least 12+ years of directly relevant sales experience, including direct experience with target solutions in the contact center/customer experience domain. Experience with Cisco, Avaya, Genesys solutions preferred

Proven success in solution selling and collaborative sales models is required

Proven success in both new client acquisition and business development preferred

Effective at strategic area and account planning

In depth knowledge of business drivers related to customer needs

Effective interacting and relationship building at senior levels as well as technical levels within the client environment
