Dimension Data Announces Expansion of Strategic Relationship with SAP to Offer SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud in the US

NEW YORK, SEPT. 11, 2018 – Building on the momentum of similar successful launches in Africa and Asia, SAP has entered an alliance with Dimension Data, a USD 8 billion global technology systems integrator and managed services provider, to offer SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) in-memory managed cloud service in the United States. Dimension Data was accepted because of the company’s deep enterprise solution and services expertise, its track record of supporting large enterprise workloads and its commitment to customer service. Customer satisfaction of Dimension Data SAP HEC clients ranked highest among all partners participating in the most recent SAP HEC Summit in Germany.

The SAP HEC service allows organizations to deploy HANA, older ECC and other SAP applications in a private managed cloud environment. It also accommodates custom applications and workloads which might not be SAP specific. Offering a managed cloud service covering both SAP and non-SAP workloads provides ease of integration and movement of data required as organizations look to accelerate digital transformation initiatives.

“Modern organizations require a nimble IT infrastructure to quickly capture opportunities and rapidly respond to competition,” said Ross Wainwright, CEO of Dimension Data Americas. “The performance of any platform is only as good as the network it’s built upon, and assurance is only as good as the security protecting it, making Dimension Data uniquely positioned to help our clients get the most out of their IT investments.”

The SAP HEC service is available on both a BYOL and subscription-based model allowing clients to use and pay for the services they need, when they need them, while bundling software into the same contract. The utility and consumption-based commercial model allows customers to reduce risk and implement initiatives, based on need instead of budget, to accelerate digital transformation with a secure and scalable private cloud managed service offered by SAP, run by Dimension Data.

“Complex software and systems are an anchor to innovation,” said Lou Meshulam, SVP SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud NA Sales. “They eat away both time and money, leaving little room for meaningful innovation. The shift of organizations of all sizes towards some type of cloud service highlights the growing need for the cost-efficiency and flexibility that only the cloud provides. We’re excited for Dimension Data and their high level of service to bring SAP HEC to even more clients in the US.”
