The Professional Services (PS) Technician takes responsibility for the basic equipment setup and configuration of associated software at client sites. They collaborate and work closely with the Engineering organization to provide install and break/fix functions for clients.
Individuals in this role install and test new software and hardware. They maintain servers and network hardware. PS Technicians diagnose and troubleshoot hardware failures and provide technical support, escalating unresolved issues when appropriate. PS Technicians provide telephonic, remote and on-site support to clients.
What you'll be doing
Provide support to clients
When problems arise, they provide support and maintain a log and/or list of all the required repairs. They remain current with developments in the hardware and software technologies. Technicians are aware and knowledgeable on updated versions of software applications and operating systems.
Ensure operational hardware and software on client site
They exhibit elementary coordination and planning abilities and provide support and guidance for technicians. They assist the Engineering Team by documenting standard operating procedures for hardware and software installation.
Carry out server and maintenance tasks
The PS Technician carries out routine server and network maintenance tasks. They setup and maintain back-up systems for desktops and file servers.
As corporate citizens the take initiative when required to solve a problem. They demonstrate excellent communication skills and display a client service orientation. They ensure the quality of delivered work and contribute to client satisfaction.
PS Technicians work well within a team setup but can operate independently. They contribute to the success of a team.
The individual has obtained entry-level industry or vendor technology certification.
