The ITaaS Support Engineer (L2) provides a service to ITaaS clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational through proactively identifying, investigating and resolving technical incidents and problems and to restore service to clients by managing incidents to resolution. Their primary objective is to ensure zero missed service level agreement conditions. The ITaaS Support Engineer (L2) focuses on second line support for medium complexity incidents.
What you'll be doing
Location: Ashburn, VA
Duties: Responsible for the design, deployment, installation, provisioning, troubleshooting, and reporting for the VMware & Hyper V infrastructure and related Cloud services. Work closely with cross functional teams for the deployment and ongoing support of Cloud services to both internal stakeholders and clients. Responsibilities include: Design, deployment and ongoing support of Dimension Data Cloud infrastructure; integration of SOAP/REST Application Interface with Cloud Control; develop/test Open Virtualization Tool Integration into Cloud Control; integration of Products into Cloud Control; develop and implement maintenance plans and activities for Cloud infrastructure including: application of fixes, security patches and upgrades, capacity increases and other Cloud related maintenance; provide advanced technical and engineering support to both internal groups and customers; assist cross functional teams in troubleshooting and problem identification; evaluate and analyze systems, performance, issues and metrics in order to provide recommendations for service improvements; diagnose, solve and provide root cause analysis for application, hardware, network, and operating system issues; 24x7 escalation support; support project quality assurance activities; and adhere to proper escalation and change control procedures.
Requirements: 5 years of experience in the job offered or VMware Engineer or closely related position. Experience which may have been obtained concurrently must include 5 years of experience with integration of SOAP/REST Application Interface with Cloud Control; develop/test Open Virtualization Tool Integration into Cloud Control; and integration of Products into Cloud Control.
