Dimension Data and Cisco 25 year partnership project awarded

The partnership between Dimension Data and Cisco is unique in the technology world. Not only has the relationship lasted for more than 25 years, but it extends far beyond a business partnership, to one where both organisations are able to collaborate on projects to make the world a better place.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of our collaboration, we embarked on an ambitious project; to complete 25 community service projects across the globe, over the course of a year.

The success of this project was recognised this week, when it won the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility award for a global project at the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP) Summit in Fort Lauderdale, US.

The project itself was a triumph, displaying the enthusiasm of Dimension Data and Cisco employees in giving back to the community. More than 260 employees from both companies, across 10 different countries, became involved. Projects included helping girls in South Sudan get access to education, providing bicycles to school children in Thailand, and planting a food garden in North Carolina in the US. You can find out more about the 25 projects in this e-book

Our alliance on social responsibility causes goes far beyond this project. In 2015, we embarked on an ambitious task to help save the rhino from extinction. In conjunction with a private game reserve in South Africa, we used the power of technology to protect rhinos from poachers, cutting poaching by 96%. As a result of the success of this pilot Connected Conservation project, we’re now expanding it to other locations in Africa – protecting more than just rhinos –  and in the future we’ll look further afield.

After more than a quarter of a century of collaboration, both in business and working in the community, the ASAP Award shows the depth of the relationship between Dimension Data and Cisco, and I look forward to seeing the impact that this lasting relationship will have on the world.
