Commitment to Human Rights

The Dimension Data Group (“Dimension Data”) a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (“NTT”) endeavours to create a corporate culture that supports human rights, and is opposed to any form of discrimination. We follow, inter alia, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As globalisation progresses, the international community is strongly urging companies to implement measures to ensure that human rights are respected. The NTT Group unveiled its NTT Group Human Rights Charter in June 2014. The ideals contained in ISO 26000, an international standard for social responsibility published in 2010, as well as the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights that were endorsed by the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2011, are incorporated in the NTT Group Human Rights Charter.

Group Human Rights Charter

We, as part of the NTT Group, recognize that respect for human rights is our corporate responsibility and aim to create a safe, secure and enriched social environment by fulfilling this responsibility.

  1. We respect internationally recognized human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in all company activities.
  2. We aim to not be complicit, directly or indirectly, in infringing human rights.
  3. We endeavour to reduce any negative impact on human rights’ holders. We respond appropriately when negative impacts on human rights occur
  4. When a business partner does anything that has a negative impact on human rights that is linked to a product or service of Dimension Data, we will expect of them to respect human rights and to cease the relevant infringement.

Our Human Rights Policies

  1. Dimension Data respects the human rights of all the stakeholders and this is steered by its leaders, by example.
  2. Dimension Data respects diversity, promotes equal opportunity, and strives to create a healthy working environment that is free of harassment issues.
  3. Dimension Data will, from the standpoint of respect to human rights, review its operation, as appropriate, and will adapt and improve human rights in its business activities.
  4. Dimension Data is committed to supporting its Group companies in their efforts to raise awareness on human rights issues.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

We will not use or tolerate the use of forced slavery, child labour or human trafficking in our business or supply chain. We strive to be honest, ethical, and transparent in everything we do. Dimension Data cannot condone and has a zero tolerance approach to any form of slavery or human trafficking. Dimension Data is committed to fighting modern slavery however it may be manifested. We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.  Suppliers to Dimension Data are obliged to comply with all applicable laws in their contracts.

During the course of the forthcoming financial year, we will be introducing human rights, anti- slavery and human trafficking awareness training for relevant new employees and periodically for existing employees as part of our ongoing compliance training. Dimension Data also requires all employees to comply with our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and employees certify compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act and constitutes Dimension Data’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2019.

Compliance with Human Rights Charter

Non-compliance with our Human Rights Charter will be managed by Dimension Data’s Group Compliance Officer. Dimension Data has a Group Code of Business Conduct and Ethics which provides clear procedures for reporting any suspected incidents related to unethical behaviour. This is supported by a whistleblowing hotline for employees. Concerns of employees, suppliers, partners or any other stakeholder can be communicated through the same channels as any other ethical issue.
